Tire Killers are manual or automatic safety barriers made of extremely resistant steel. Whether recessed or surface-mounted, they allow vehicles to move normally when lowered and puncture tires when raised.
Mecasystem’s mechanical and automatic tire killers are highly effective deterrents for managing vehicle access control in highly restricted areas. Available in various configurations with adjustable-sized metal spikes, this product can be mounted on the surface or in a shallow pit. It offers the option of bidirectional or dual-directional control with spikes of varying lengths. The diverse range of options allows this traffic barrier to be expanded and applied to a multitude of applications. For the hydraulic model, the unit is directly integrated into the harrow, making this barrier suitable for installations in harsh weather conditions, as well as projects requiring long distances (up to 100 m) between the API and the blocking segment.
For the mechanical tire killer, unrestricted exit and controlled entry are possible. Mecasystem mechanical tire killers are an ideal solution for vehicle access control when a power supply is unavailable. We offer two types of devices: spring-loaded and lever-operated. In the spring-loaded model, the prongs remain permanently raised, allowing free passage in one direction. Lever-operated tire killers offer three operating modes: prongs raised and locked in both directions, prongs lowered and locked, and prongs raised and free in one direction.
Automatic spike strips, also known as “tyre killer“, “spike barrier” or “security spike strip“, are sophisticated security devices designed to protect sensitive areas and restrict unauthorized access.
It is often used in car parks, military areas, government sites, airports and sensitive facilities.
When an unauthorized vehicle attempts to cross an automatic tire spike strip, the retractable spikes rise from the ground, puncturing or damaging the vehicle’s tires. This effectively immobilizes the vehicle and prevents any unauthorized entry.
– Access control: Automatic spike strips allow access to restricted areas, permitting only authorized vehicles to pass. – Ease of use: Automatic spike strips can be easily controlled remotely, providing convenient security management.
An automatic tire deflation device is a road safety device designed to control access by deploying spikes or obstacles that prevent unauthorized vehicle passage. It is often used in secure areas or for traffic management.
Automatic spike strips are installed in sensitive areas such as military installations, industrial sites, secure parking lots, borders, and at the entrance to sites requiring rigorous vehicle control.
Regular maintenance is recommended to ensure proper operation, including checking hydraulic or electrical mechanisms, lubricating parts, and verifying the condition of the tips to avoid premature wear.
